As you may know, I have a love for handmade items and have made most gifts for the last several holidays myself. So I couldn't exclude Mother's Day from that list. I Am No Martha!

TJ and I wanted to do something fun for Easter this year and since we are all about making our own gifts and decorations for holidays we decided to try our hand at something new for Easter. So we decided to make papier mache' eggs. We send a shout out to Martha Stewart for the idea!

Since my sister and her fiance will be joining us for the holiday this year, we made some extra big eggs to fill with goodies (Note to Laura and Brad: I know I ruined the suprise but you can't expect a blogger/crafter not to share their projects). Rory already has an Easter basket so we made her a few small ones to stick inside since she won't be getting any candy this year. hehe.

So I am no Martha! My eggs don't really even look like eggs, but rather like footballs and paper mush balls. Though the pink one I made Rory was a success.

But TJ is! Check out his master piece!

I can't wait to show you how everything comes together for the holiday!

Weekend Project

Just a quick post to share a few things I worked on this weekend. Rory has been very needy this week and I've found that I can sit and hold her while making these cute little hairpins. I love multitasking!

I have a few more things in the works, I will share once they are complete. You can find all three of these hairpins in my shop!

Disappearing Act

Okay so you may have been thinking that I disappeared, but do not fret, I am still here. I simply had a busy weekend! Busy but good! Saturday we had some friends over to meet Rory. We ate lots of food! Sunday we visited Rory's grandparents where she met her great grandfather for the first time. We ate lots of food! And of course, a trip to the grandparents means a trip to the craft store for mommy! I'm up to my ears in colorful felts and floss! Colors makes me happy!

In between our social gatherings, I was busy working on my newest obsessions!

These little guys are so much fun! I still have some more to make since most of these are either practice pieces or gifts. I am going to be posting one two in my shop for now! I hope to have a few more in there by the end of the week, so check back!

I also had a blast making fabric necklaces. This one is going to be posted in my shop today or tomorrow and there are more to come over the next few days.

I totally have spring fever! So to ease the suffering I am making spring with bright color fabrics and felt, flowers and mushrooms.

New Additions To Our Family

Our family is growing ever bigger with our three new additions! Yesterday TJ brought home this little guy.

Though we haven't named him yet, we are very excited that he is here. A big thank you to Kenna for making him for Rory!

Gwen and her friend came in what is hands down the most fun and exciting package I have every received. It was packed full of stickers and tags and her friend came as a little bonus gift. Super exciting!!!

A few new additions...

Got Scraps? no sewing required

I am always looking for things to do with the mounds of fabric scraps that I keep. And since I recently came to need some drawer sachets, I thought that I would try my hand at making them.


I happened to have a bag of locally grown lavender on hand that I've been waiting for the right project to use, and some ribbon scraps as well. With all the ingredients ready, it only takes 5 easy steps to create a fun little sachet.

1. lay out small rectangles and squares of fabric scraps



2. pour little heaps of lavender in the center of each scrap



3. bunch the fabric up around the lavender



4. tie a ribbon in a knot around the center of the fabric (right above the lavender), then tie another knot to prevent spills



5. and finally, tie a pretty bow and you are done!

I was surprised at how quick this project is and it uses up some of the beautiful little scraps you saved from your projects of past.
