Rory's Nursery - a work in progress

I'm sure that you can imagine my excitement when I found that we would be moving and I would get to decorate Rory's nursery. At our last house, she was not only sleeping in our room still but didn't have a real room of her own. We had her set up in a little nook outside of our bedroom but being that it was part of another room, we didn't really get to make it a real nursery. So I've been slowly working on her new room and I am almost finished. I can't wait to share pictures of the final results with you but for now I would like to share some of the things that have been put into the design.

I wanted a section of wall to be decorated with several prints from some of my favorite designers on etsy (yes, I truly am obsessed with etsy, but I just love supporting my fellow artists and crafters). So here are a few prints that I have acquired for Rory's room. Please take the time to check out these shops, they are all fabulous I promise!

This is our custom portrait done by Nan Lawson

Do you have any favorite artists on etsy that you think I should check out?

Jane Austen

I love Jane Austen and my very favorite book of hers is Pride and Prejudice. When I saw this "which austen heroine are you?" quiz on a lovely blog I found but can't remember the name of, I just had to do it. Oh, and I was so pleased to find that I am most like Elizabeth Bennet! So for all my fellow Austen lovers, the link for the quiz is below.

I am Elizabeth Bennet!

I'm off to netflix Pride and Prejudice, the perfect movie for this cool fall day!

Autumn Love

My very favorite time of year is the fall, and it has finally found us here in the northeast. I wish it could be fall all year long! Crisp, warm air with cool, gentle breezes. Leaves turning deep, warm colors and blanketing the ground. Scarfs, sweaters, boots and mittens without the need for a heavy jacket. Apple picking, PUMPKINS, hay rides and the fall harvest which brings so many yummy comfort foods to us. Gloomy days, which I welcome, curled up in a warm blanket. Fresh text books and new pencils. Halloween.  And best of all, soup! That is what I think of when fall comes and it is what I look forward to all year.

This is what I found outside Rory's window this morning.

I just can't wait until they all look like that!

Primary Cute!

I'm sure you may be getting a little tired of me posting the treasuries that I am in but I do enjoy having an outlet to thank the people that have included my work in theirs. So a big thank you to the Little Bird Company for sharing my set of hairpins with the etsy world! To take a look click here!

On another note, we had a rather busy week over here. My mother came to visit on Monday, I attended a wonderful workshop on Ayurveda on Wednesday evening and spent the day at Brimfield yesterday. I didn't really get any antiques or vintage items but I am pretty sure I found heaven. More about that all later...

I still have sooo many new items to post in my shop, I am hoping to get that done this coming week as I sort of dropped the ball on that this week and last. Keep checking back and don't worry, I have not forgotten about that giveaway I promised, it is coming soon!!!!!

Have a wonderful weekend!!!!!!!!

I just love these colors, what a beautiful treasury!

Some new additions

As any etsy seller knows, listing new items is quite the process. You must take pictures of your items, edit them if necessary, create the listing itself - title, description, details, tags, price, shipping, etc.- then promote like a crazy woman. So it is a bit of a slow going task. I don't like to spam you with my merchandise too much but this week I'm going to give you little updates of what is new in my shop.

This is what I've listed so far.

The pictures aren't as fabulous as I would have liked them to be but I am not fully set up just yet and really wanted to get them done. I will fantabulize (yes, as previously stated, I can make up words because this is my blog) them another time. It is always a work in progress.

Oh, FYI, all of my pocket mirrors are buy 2 get 1 free. I'll have more listed in the coming days. I keep updates flowing on my Facebook page, so if you would like to be among the first to see what is listed be sure to friend me!

Happy Wednesday! And happy selling to all my fellow etsians!
