craft fair here I come!

image source unknown, please contact me if you have the info

Hi dolls, I would like to invite those of you who live in the Berkshires or surrounding area to come visit my booth at the craft fair being held in the very center of Lee today. It is in the park that is in front of the ever so noticeable and infamous (to us locals) church with the steeple. This is my very first craft fair and I am soooo very nervous. I've been up till 3a.m. every night this week doing my craft thing and I can't wait to sleep late on Sunday. It would make me so happy to see you so don't be shy and come say hi (I totally didn't mean to rhyme there so please don't think I'm a corndog). Anyway, come show your love to the handmade movement and if that is too cliche' (is that how you spell it?) for you then certainly show some support for your local artisans and crafters.

Hope to see you today!

Have a wonderful weekend!

We Got It!

Well I'm happy to report that we found an apartment! We are moving on Wednesday which means I have a ton of packing to do cause I haven't even started yet. But first things first, my craft fair is on Saturday and I'm doing my very best to make enough inventory to make it worth even making an appearance (how many times can we use the word "make" in a sentence?). I hope I can do it! Wish me luck!!!!!!

a little update

Oh my, searching for an apartment in a major college town, at the same time as 30,000 other people (students) is just not that much fun at all. After about 5000 phone calls and emails that I hardly got any response to, I decided to start calling in my current contacts, my friends. One very lovely friend of mine lives in a wonderful complex that just happened to have a couple of 2 bedrooms available. I was out there yesterday (it's an 1 1/2 hours away from our current home), looking at several different apartments and was able to visit the place that was available and it was the very best we saw yet. So we put in our application and deposit and we are just waiting to hear back. Keep all your fingers and toes crossed for us please!

I came across these lovely photographs today by Mandy Lynne of skippydesigns and oh how I adore her work! Don't you!?!

Five thousand things all happening at the same time

Okay, I haven't posted since last week so I have a bunch of catching you up to do. I'm going to do it over the course of the next few days because it's a lot. Here is just a taste of what I will be sharing.

First, I did not forget to announce the winner of the giveaway, okay, I did, but I also decided to extend the giveaway for another week so it's not that bad. So go and enter to win dammit!

Rory turned 7 months old this past Friday but I couldn't take a picture cause we broke our camera the day before. I'm gonna share a very recent picture of her instead.

TJ and I celebrated our third wedding anniversary this past Saturday. We didn't do anything very special. I quick dinner and a lovely chat. Simple but just right. So with wedding on the brain I went and looked at our wedding pictures and I will be sharing a few of my favorites with you.

We are moving! Yes, finally, we are actually going to move out to the area where my husband works and goes to school so that he no longer has to commute and hour and a half each way. We are very excited though apartment hunting isn't going very well. I've called and emailed on like 20 - 30 properties and have only gotten one call back and two emails (one was spam). I'll keep you updated on the hunt and the move and life in a new place.

I've decided to do a very last minute craft fair. It is in Lee for you locals that are looking for something to do on July 31. I'm so super excited cause it is my very first craft fair but I am so super busy getting ready for it and doing the ten thousand other things I have to do in my life. I can't wait and I would sooooo love to see you there! Please come by and say hi if you are in the area. I'll remind you when we get a little closer to the day but for those of you that have seen my shop and are familiar with what I offer please note that I have a ton of new things to introduce at the fair that you haven't seen in my shop yet.

Okay, almost done.

If I have time remind me to tell you the story of how I sprained my foot and severely bruised all of the tendons on the top of it. Ouch! I can hardly walk, well I'm not supposed to walk at all but that is a bit of a difficult mission when you have a baby. Oh, and I was holding Rory when it happened, I almost had a frigging heart attack!!!!

Okay so since you have actually read all of my silly ranting you deserve a little treat. I recently stumbled across this wonderful photographer ShannonBlue recently and was so inspired by her work that I just had to share it with you. Please enjoy!

Giveaway!!!!

I'm seeing stars! Oh wait, that is just our newest giveaway, hehe. Okay that was super corny but I couldn't help myself. This weeks featured artist is the oh so sweet Deidre or Deidreart. As you can see she makes some wonderful and awesome items out of clay. She has a fun disposition that shows through her work and the titles of her pieces are often inspired by music. Check out her store, you'll find a mix of hand shaped and hand thrown pottery, it's pretty cool!

Here are my favorites!

Here is a little bit about

Deidreart.

Name is Deidre, I am 23 years old from Saint Louis Missouri. I love colour, dogs (including my own BuddyGirl), Rob Thomas, music, ceramics, reading, and Chinese food among other things. Art has always been a part of my life more specifically music and visual art. I went too some art related schools both in middle and high school in the Saint Louis area. It was in high school that my passion for ceramics arts began. My sophmore year I took my first real ceramics class and I never left it! I've gone through lots of different stages in my art but a lot of things don't change. I love to play with ideas of unbalanced and often combined forms, carving/sgrafitto, and nature. I think that show up a lot in my body of work. Most recently I have been doing some more handbuilding, like the bowl in this giveaway, but throwing is totally where my head and hands are always at. My passion for music shows up in my work alot as well. I name many of my pieces after song lyrics that the piece reminds me of. My etsy shop started in September 2009, so I am fairly new but loving it so far. I also plan on getting involved in some markets this summer in the Saint Louis area. I also try to keep up with a blog where I post works in progress.

Also find Deidre here.

This is what you could win.

A Little More Complicated

Dear Lovely Readers of Mine,

Recently I have been in contact with a wonderful family that I used to babysit for. We have stayed in very close touch over the years, the youngest was even the flower girl in my wedding. They are in need of some summer help to shuffle the kids to summer jobs, camp and just hang out on days without much going on and I am in need of some extra cash, so now I have a summer job. I'm so excited to get to know the kids again and the very best part is I get to bring Rory with me. But sadly, this means something has to give a little and that will be, you guessed it, my beloved blog. I know things have been a little wishy washy lately anyway, I haven't been to most consistent post-er, so I thank you all for bearing with me and staying committed to reading. I will not be giving up completely but pairing down my posts to only a few a week (some weeks more, some weeks less). I do hope very much that you will continue to visit and share your comments cause hearing from you brings me so much pleasure.

For now, happy (late) monday, check back later in the week for a fun giveaway and a lovely feature.

Love to you all!
Jamie

new (and colorful) packaging

Lately I've been a little bored with the packaging I use for my Le Petite Pretty orders. I didn't really want to have to go purchase more materials though, I am really trying to pinch when I can. So I gathered up some things that I  already had lying around and this is what I came up with. What do you think?

Don't you just love, love, love Japanese masking tape? I do!!!!

Kicking off color week!

As I was unpacking my box of yummy organic vegetables the other day I couldn't help but notice how pretty all of the colorful fruits and veggies were. So, of course, I had to take a picture!

A yummy rainbow of goodness, hehe!

This weeks posts are all about colors! I just love rainbows of items grouped together. When I was a child my favorite episode of Sesame Street (or Reading Rainbow, can't remember which one exactly) was the trip to the crayon factory cause at the very end they showed boxes of unwrapped crayons of all different colors stacked together. Just a little something I've always remembered.

This weeks giveaway is on hold as I have totally fallen behind. Giveaways will be back starting next week.

Have a wonderful Tuesday, I hope it isn't too hot where you are, its supposed to be 95 here today. meh!

I'm Back!

So sorry I went missing for an entire week! I slightly underestimated how I would be feeling after my surgery. But I feel so much better now and am working on some new things to share with you this week.

I hope you all had a wonderful and colorful fourth of July! We had a super busy weekend having to attend three different parties and celebrate Rory's first fourth. We actually brought her to a fireworks show last night, not so sure she would tolerate the late night and loud fireworks but she did great. She watched the first 20 minutes or so of the fireworks commenting every now and then but didn't miss a single one and then fell asleep through the rest of the show. It's so much fun to watch her experience new and exciting things for the first time. She's such a joy!

Have a wonderful Monday, hope you don't have to work! I'll be back tomorrow!
